Outer Hebrides Photography Book — Now Available

Our new Outer Hebrides photography book is now available, a collection of images from Harris and Lewis that capture Atlantic light, shifting weather and the quiet coastline of the islands. The book brings together some of my favourite photographs from the last couple of years spent living and photographing the beaches, cliffs and moorland of the Hebrides. It also includes award‑winning images created during wild Atlantic winter storms, our biographies, and 148 photographs in total across 88 pages.

This landscape photography book features long‑exposure seascapes, astro work, wider landscapes and more abstract and ICM interpretations of the islands. It reflects the different ways I’ve approached photographing the Outer Hebrides, from quiet, detailed moments along the shore to broader scenes shaped by wind and tide.

We’ve made a few photography books over the years, but this one feels different, the closest we’ve come to capturing Harris and Lewis as we experience it, in all seasons. It took time to build the pages, to find a rhythm that felt cohesive and to create spreads that worked together visually, each one leading naturally into the next. To accompany some of the images, I’ve also written short pieces of text, offering a little more detail about the conditions or the area where each photograph was made.

We’re especially proud of this Hebrides photo book. It’s a representation of every photography outing, every wow moment, every new discovery and every revisit to a favourite location. Not every outing brings dramatic light or roaring waves, but there’s always something to take from the day, a chance to scout a location, notice smaller details or explore more abstract ideas.

A full flip‑through is available on the store page, allowing you to view the spreads and how the images sit alongside the short written pieces. The book is A4, printed with a 300gsm gloss‑laminated cover and 170gsm gloss inner pages, and finished with perfect binding and a 4pp cover for durability.

You can also explore some of the images featured in the book by visiting our gallery page, or browse our tuition and workshop pages if you’d like to join us for a photography experience in the Outer Hebrides.

We hope you enjoy exploring the book as much as we enjoyed creating it. Harris and Lewis in all seasons, and we’re excited to finally share it.
